Men’s Health Reimagined: Bradley Ra Aubry on Purpose, PERMA, and Lasting Well-Being

On PERMA Integrated Health, we speak with thought leaders who are redefining well-being. Today, our guest is Bradley Ra Aubry—known simply as Ra—the founder of MENTΞCH, a platform that integrates the PERMA framework of Positive Psychology into men’s health by combining technology, coaching, and community to support body, mind, and spirit.

About Bradley Ra Aubry and the PERMA Model for Men’s Health and Well-Being

I built MENTΞCH to integrate the Men’s Health PERMA Model, treating well-being as a multidimensional system. Our digital ecosystem blends health tools, AI coaching, performance programs, and community platforms to strengthen not just the body, but resilience, purpose, and connection—aligning physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

My drive came from years of isolation, with no mentorship or community, where I had to turn inward to uncover meaning. I faced countless challenges navigating health systems that felt reductionist, and even becoming a father came with a steep learning curve—trying to grow without a map for authentic manhood.

One turning point came when I realised I’d been building physical strength while neglecting mental and spiritual foundations. That moment shifted my focus from just muscle to resilience and meaning—shaping how MENTΞCH blends body, mind, and spirit. Becoming a father reinforced the need for support, technology, and community to help men grow into better partners, fathers, and leaders.

MENTΞCH exists because men need integrated systems to thrive. It’s more than performance—it’s about evolving with purpose, strength, and soul. For me, it’s a movement: aligning health, technology, and spiritual growth so men everywhere can step fully into empowered manhood.

1. How Does MENTΞCH Use the PERMA Model in Digital Health to Improve Men’s Mental Health and Well-Being?

MENTΞCH integrates the PERMA model into men’s health by treating well-being as a multidimensional system. Our digital ecosystem combines AI-driven coaching, performance programs, mental health tools, and community platforms to promote positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment in daily life. By aligning technology with evidence-based principles of positive psychology, we help men not only track physical health but also strengthen resilience, purpose, and social connection—creating a holistic approach to sustained well-being and personal growth.

The MENTΞCH approach fuses Positive Psychology (PERMA) with digital health innovation to reframe men’s wellness as an evolutionary, tech-empowered, and purpose-driven journey. This model moves men away from silence and stigma toward embodied well-being, conscious masculinity, and superhuman potential, supported by data-driven tools and community structures that make growth measurable, meaningful, and deeply human.

1a. Men’s health often focuses on physical outcomes, but well-being is
multidimensional. How do the principles of Positive Emotion, Engagement,

Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment from positive psychology play
a role in your MENTΞCH digital health ecosystem?

That’s an excellent question. Men’s health has too often been defined narrowly through physical performance and outcomes, but real well-being is multidimensional. What the PERMA framework offers us at MENTΞCH is not just a checklist of elements, but a systemic architecture for human flourishing that we can translate directly into a digital health ecosystem designed for men.

PERMA provides a scientific model that treats well-being as a living system where emotions, engagement, social bonds, meaning, and achievement are interconnected. That systemic approach aligns perfectly with how we design our platform—where data, technology, and community reinforce each other to generate momentum across every dimension of a man’s life. Rather than isolating physical health from mental, emotional, or social health, we integrate them so that gains in one area ripple through the others.

This model benefits the MENTΞCH ecosystem by giving it both structure and flexibility: structure, because PERMA is evidence-based and provides a clear framework for designing interventions; flexibility, because it allows us to innovate with neurotech, wearables, immersive environments, and community platforms while still anchoring everything in a coherent philosophy of well-being. In practice, this means men are not only tracking steps or workouts—they are participating in a multidimensional system that cultivates resilience, flow, connection, purpose, and visible growth.

So, PERMA is more than theory for us—it’s the operating system. It ensures that MENTΞCH doesn’t fall into the trap of being another health app or performance tracker. Instead, it becomes an integrated ecosystem where technology and psychology converge to support men in evolving toward their fullest potential.

2. Can You Share a Case Study or a Real-life Success Story Where Applying PERMA Principles and Positive Psychology Made a Tangible Difference for a Male Client in Digital Health Programs?

That’s a great question, and it highlights one of the key challenges in this space. At the moment, there isn’t a peer-reviewed case study that perfectly demonstrates how applying the PERMA model within a digital health program has made a tangible difference for men specifically. Most of the research we do have—such as studies using PERMA-based interventions in clinical populations like Parkinson’s patients—shows strong psychological and quality-of-life benefits, but it isn’t male-focused or delivered through digital ecosystems.

This gap underscores the need for precisely the kind of research MENTΞCH is pioneering. What those existing studies do show, however, is highly instructive for how we design a male-focused system. First, holistic measurement matters—tracking not just reductions in symptoms but increases in positive affect, resilience, and overall quality of life. Second, interventions need to align with well-being mechanisms. The PERMA components don’t need to be broken down one by one; what’s important is that programs foster positive emotion, connection, meaning, resilience, and measurable growth in integrated ways.

Third, satisfaction and engagement are key levers of sustainability. The data from clinical trials reveal that when participants perceive value and feel engaged, the outcomes are stronger and more durable. Fourth, resilience emerges as a central mediator. For men especially, where stigma often prevents seeking help, interventions that build resilience equip them not just to cope with stress but to expand their capacity for growth. Finally, there’s evidence that combining physical and mental health tracking produces compounding benefits—something perfectly suited to MENTΞCH’s integration of wearables, biofeedback, and digital performance tools.

If we imagine the “perfect” case study for MENTΞCH, it would be digital-first, targeted specifically to men, with data disaggregated by gender, and measured across a longitudinal timeline to capture sustained transformation. It would treat PERMA not as an abstract framework but as the operating system of the ecosystem itself. This approach would use the Men’s Health PERMA Model not as an abstract framework, but as the operating system of the ecosystem itself. That’s where the field needs to go, and that’s where we see MENTΞCH stepping in—not just to close the research gap, but to set the standard for how digital health can support multidimensional well-being for men.

2a. Whether through AI-driven coaching, performance programs, or mental health interventions, can you give an example of a man whose well-being significantly improved by integrating PERMA-based strategies and positive psychology in a digital health setting?

That’s another very important question. At present, there isn’t a published peer-reviewed case study that perfectly captures a man’s transformation through PERMA-based strategies within a digital health ecosystem. The research that does exist such as positive psychology interventions for clinical populations shows significant benefits in resilience, emotional regulation, and quality of life, but hasn’t yet been tailored to men in a digital-first context.

And that highlights a tremendous opportunity. Imagine a man entering a MENTΞCH program at a point of stress and disengagement—struggling with burnout, isolation, or lack of purpose. Through AI-driven coaching, he could receive personalized prompts that guide him into more positive emotional states. Performance programs could be designed not just for fitness, but to help him access flow states and re-engage with his life. Digital community platforms would connect him with mentors and peers, countering isolation and giving him a sense of belonging. Over time, his progress wouldn’t just be measured in physical metrics, but in resilience, meaning, and accomplishment reflecting a multidimensional shift.

That kind of outcome measured holistically and tracked longitudinally would be groundbreaking. It’s precisely the sort of case study we see as the next frontier: documenting how PERMA, when fully integrated into digital health, can reframe men’s wellness not as symptom management, but as flourishing. MENTΞCH’s goal is to help create and capture those stories so they become evidence-based models for the future of men’s health.

3. How Does Fostering Positive Relationships and Peer Support Impact Health Outcomes in MENTΞCH Participants Using Digital Health Tools and Positive Psychology?

Fostering positive relationships is central to well-being, and in the MENTΞCH ecosystem, it has a direct impact on health outcomes. Social connection is one of the strongest predictors of both mental and physical health, yet men often face higher levels of isolation and lower engagement with traditional support systems. By integrating positive psychology principles with digital health tools, MENTΞCH creates opportunities for meaningful connection that amplify the benefits of any intervention.

For example, our digital brotherhood platforms, mentorship networks, and collaborative challenges encourage participants to share progress, celebrate achievements, and hold each other accountable. This relational engagement enhances adherence to performance programs, reinforces positive emotional states, and provides a sense of purpose and belonging. Research consistently shows that when individuals feel connected, they experience reduced stress, improved resilience, and better immune, cardiovascular, and cognitive outcomes.

In practice, MENTΞCH leverages technology to make these connections tangible and sustainable. AI-driven coaching and group-based digital experiences allow men to access supportive communities anytime, anywhere, while gamified and ritualized interactions reinforce social bonds. In this way, relationships are not just an ancillary benefit—they become a mechanism for amplifying mental, emotional, and physical health outcomes, turning engagement in the ecosystem into multidimensional, measurable well-being.

3a. Relationships are central to PERMA and positive psychology. In your experience, how does creating a supportive community within MENTΞCH leveraging digital health tools improve men’s engagement, mental resilience, and overall well-being?

Absolutely, relationships are a cornerstone of positive psychology, and in my experience, creating a supportive community within MENTΞCH has a profound impact on men’s engagement, resilience, and overall well-being. Many men face social isolation or limited access to spaces where vulnerability and growth are welcomed. By leveraging digital health tools, we provide platforms where men can connect, share experiences, and support one another in ways that are safe, structured, and meaningful.

These communities foster accountability and motivation, making engagement with fitness, mental health, and performance programs more consistent and sustained. Men report feeling less alone in their challenges, which strengthens mental resilience and the capacity to cope with stress. At the same time, the sense of belonging and recognition amplifies positive emotional states and reinforces purpose, making health and personal growth feel both achievable and rewarding.

In short, the MENTΞCH community turns individual effort into a shared journey. Digital tools—AI coaching, peer networks, and collaborative challenges—create a multiplier effect: as men connect and grow together, their physical, emotional, and psychological outcomes improve simultaneously, demonstrating the systemic power of relationships within a PERMA-informed model of well-being.

4. How Do Meaning and Purpose Drive Engagement, Habit Change and Motivation in Men’s Health Programs Using Positive Psychology and Digital Health?

Meaning and purpose are critical drivers of engagement and motivation, especially in men’s health programs. When men understand how their actions connect to a larger narrative whether it’s personal growth, family, legacy, or mastery they engage more deeply and persistently with health interventions. In the MENTΞCH ecosystem, we combine positive psychology with digital health tools to translate this sense of purpose into tangible, daily practices.

Through AI-guided coaching, personalized goal-setting, and progress tracking, men can see how each activity, be it fitness, mental training, or stress management contributes to their overarching life objectives. Digital communities and collaborative challenges further reinforce purpose by linking individual progress to shared goals, accountability, and recognition. This alignment of actions with meaning transforms routine health behaviors into intrinsically motivating practices, increasing adherence, resilience, and overall well-being.

In essence, purpose is the engine that drives sustained engagement. By integrating meaning into digital health programs, MENTΞCH ensures that men are not simply completing tasks or workouts they are participating in a larger, values-aligned journey of growth, mastery, and self-actualization.

4a. Meaning is a key PERMA element. How does helping men find purpose in their health journeys, supported by digital health interventions and principles of positive psychology, influence adherence, performance, and long-term lifestyle changes within MENTΞCH?

Helping men find purpose in their health journeys is one of the most powerful levers for lasting change. In MENTΞCH, we integrate digital health interventions with positive psychology principles to ensure that each participant’s actions whether in fitness, mental training, or recovery connect to a larger sense of meaning and personal growth.

When men perceive their efforts as aligned with a deeper purpose, adherence improves naturally; they are more likely to stick with programs because the activities feel relevant and intrinsically motivating rather than obligatory. This purposeful engagement also enhances performance, as men bring higher focus, consistency, and mental resilience to their routines. Over time, these reinforced habits translate into sustainable lifestyle changes, because the behaviors are not imposed externally—they are expressions of identity, values, and goals.

By embedding meaning into both the digital ecosystem and coaching strategies, MENTΞCH transforms health programs from transactional interventions into long-term, value-driven journeys. The result is a multidimensional improvement in adherence, performance, and overall well-being, illustrating how purpose functions as a central engine within a PERMA-informed model of men’s health.

5. What Lessons Can Other Digital Health Programs Learn from MENTΞCH About Using the PERMA Model and Positive Psychology to Improve Health Outcomes?

MENTΞCH offers several key lessons for other digital health programs seeking to integrate PERMA and positive psychology for lasting impact. First, well-being should be treated as a multidimensional system, not a collection of isolated metrics. Programs that address emotional, social, cognitive, and physical health simultaneously are far more likely to generate sustained change.

Second, embedding purpose and meaning into every intervention amplifies engagement. When participants understand how their daily actions connect to broader goals or personal values, adherence and motivation increase naturally.

Third, relationships and community are central levers of success. Digital tools—peer networks, mentorship programs, and collaborative challenges—can create support systems that strengthen resilience, accountability, and emotional well-being.

Fourth, tracking progress across multiple dimensions—not just physical metrics—reinforces achievement and growth. By measuring improvements in mood, social engagement, resilience, and purpose alongside performance outcomes, programs can deliver more meaningful and motivating feedback.

Finally, technology should serve psychology, not replace it. AI-driven coaching, immersive environments, and digital tracking work best when they reinforce evidence-based principles of positive psychology and human connection.

Taken together, MENTΞCH demonstrates that digital health programs grounded in PERMA and positive psychology can go beyond short-term interventions to create sustainable, multidimensional, and deeply human outcomes.

Conclusion

Based on your experience with MENTΞCH, what strategies or insights would you share with other digital health programs to effectively embed PERMA principles and positive psychology practices to enhance participant well-being?

From our experience with MENTΞCH, the most effective strategy for embedding PERMA principles into digital health programs is to treat well-being as an integrated, multidimensional system rather than a set of isolated interventions. Programs should align every feature—AI coaching, performance tracking, mental health tools, and social platforms—with principles of positive psychology, ensuring that participants experience growth, connection, purpose, and accomplishment in measurable ways.

Another key insight is the power of meaning-driven engagement. Participants are far more motivated and consistent when they understand how their daily actions contribute to larger goals, personal values, or identity development. Similarly, fostering supportive communities through digital networks, peer challenges, and mentorship not only improves adherence but also strengthens resilience and emotional well-being.

Finally, measurement and feedback should extend beyond physical outcomes. Tracking emotional states, social engagement, resilience, and progress toward meaningful goals allows participants—and the program itself—to reinforce positive behaviors and celebrate multidimensional growth. In short, the combination of purposeful design, community integration, and holistic measurement is what makes digital health programs based on the Men’s Health PERMA Model, like MENTΞCH, impactful, sustainable, and truly transformative for participants.
